Intermediate Level Incident Investigation


 

Please Note: This session is only offered as an in-house program. No public sessions are available. The program content will be customized for each client based on their needs, and the listing below is only a suggested course outline.

A two day program covering all aspects of the accident investigation process from pre-planning to determining corrective actions. The program is based on the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) Z796-98 standard on "Accident Information."

This session is at an intermediate level.  While it will cover the basics of accident investigation, it also moves beyond this to look at alternative investigation processes as well as methods to improve your organizations response to workplace accidents.


Audience: Supervisors, safety committee members, safety practitioners, and others required to investigate workplace accidents.
Experience Level:       Some previous training and/or experience with incident investigation would be helpful.
Objectives: Participants will identify accident investigation program elements and requirements as established by legislation, industry standards, and best practice research.

Using case studies, participants will determine accident causes based on witness and physical evidence, and flow-charting of contributing events and conditions.
